The Round Top Fall Antiques Show is one of the events that put our town on the map. It’s thousands of folks descending on small-town Texas. It’s bargain hunters ready to roll up their sleeves for some haggling and treasure hunters on the search for that something special. It’s a whole lotta fun and, most importantly, it’s BACK!
That’s right, after a delay brought on by COVID-19, our vendors and business owners are gearing up for what we’re sure will be a fantastic show. Of course, in our post-COVID world, safety sits front and center. Here are a few things to consider as you prepare to join us between October 15 and November 1:
Come Prepared
Like they say, the best defense is a good offense. We’re encouraging everyone who plans on attending this season’s show to mask up, practice thorough handwashing and make regular use of those take-along hand sanitizers. Many vendors and local businesses will likely have sanitizer available but, with so many shoppers making their rounds within town, having your own supply at the ready makes sense! Show preparations don’t end there, of course. Sunscreen and broken-in shoes make for more comfortable shopping. (And don’t forget to make sure you’ve got cash and/or cards on hand for any purchases you want to make!)
Use Wide Open Spaces to Your Advantage
Our town might be small, but this show is BIG. You’ll find incredible vendors located just about everywhere — along roads leading to town, throughout Round Top’s squares and virtually anyplace else they can fit! We’re asking all vendors to allow adequate space for social distancing, and asking visitors to be mindful of spaces, too. If you spot a vendor you’d like to visit, but crowds look a bit thick, take a step back. Find an area that’s less congested, stop for a snack break or take the opportunity to do a little exploring off the beaten path. That vendor will still be there once you’re done, and there’s a decent chance you’ll find something new to love about Round Top!
Stay Home if You Aren’t Feeling Well
We’re big on Southern hospitality in these parts, but we also want people to remain well. If you’re awaiting COVID-19 test results, have been around someone who’s tested positive or simply aren’t feeling up to snuff, it’s best to wait it out. There will always be future antiques shows (we promise!) but there’s only one you.
We hope you’re as excited as we are about the return of the Round Top Fall Antiques Show! Be sure to stop by the show’s webpage to learn more. If you’ve got questions or just feel like dropping a line, feel free to reach out to us, too. We’d love to hear from you!
