We’re all itching to take a Texas road trip right about now, after being stuck indoors for weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic. And hope is on the horizon – Texas governor Greg Abbott recently announced an executive order that outlines the process of reopening our great state, and there’s a lot to look forward to in the coming months in Round Top. Businesses are opening back up, and we’re ready to start planning! Gear up for your next trip to Round Top by looking ahead at our upcoming events.
Book Your Lodging for the Fall Antiques Show
The twice-yearly antique shows draw thousands to the Round Top area, and it’s famously difficult to find lodging the closer the dates of the show approach. While we’re all hunkered down, it’s the perfect opportunity to browse lodging options and narrow down where you’ll want to stay during the Fall Antiques Show that runs from September 17 – October 4 this year. Browse Round Top’s lodging options and send your booking requests here.
Round Top’s Annual 4th of July Parade
There’s a lot of history behind the 4th of July parade held every year in Round Top – after all, it is the longest-running 4th of July parade in the country west of the Mississippi. Why not create a new tradition of your own by making a 4th of July weekend visit to Round Top to celebrate? Expect beautiful parade floats, delicious food and drinks and live music for a full day of entertainment. Learn more here.
Round Top Turns 150
Although we’ll always be young at heart, Round Top is celebrating its 150th birthday in 2020! To commemorate our sesquicentennial, the town of Round Top is hosting a 150th Anniversary Celebration later in the year. The party will kick off downtown with live music, a chef’s cookoff, historic home tours and Historical Society presentations, children’s activities and more! Head to the 150th Anniversary Celebration page to learn more, and stay tuned to our social media for updates.
We look forward to seeing everyone back in Round Top soon. In the meantime, visit our Shop page to browse year-round stores that offer online shopping to enjoy some of Round Top’s treasures from a safe distance!
